THE EDITION

Read the crossing before the drop.

Follow the automatically travelling boat and choose the instant at which its line should drop.

Begin by observing the automatic journey

There is no steering step to learn in Golden Current. The boat begins travelling across its lane automatically and turns at the edges. Your part is to read the fish below and decide when the boat’s position offers a useful alignment for a drop.

Trigger the hook with its button, a click on the water or Space or Enter. The keyboard shortcuts ignore input and button focus, allowing score-name entry without accidental casts. If a key seems inactive, check which control currently has focus before trying again.

Let the hook action finish

Once triggered, the original hook action holds the boat still for 880 milliseconds while the drop resolves. That brief freeze belongs to casting itself. It is not a manual pause control, and another action must wait until the current drop has finished.

The catch check considers the nearest fish and requires it to be within ten lane units. Distance also affects the accuracy award, so two successful drops can earn different bonuses. A nearer alignment is valuable even when both targets are inside catching range.

Count misses among your six drops

A voyage offers six attempts, with unsuccessful drops using one of them too. Missing also breaks the running catch sequence. Caught fish leave the school, and the game can replenish it when fewer than four remain, changing the arrangement you read next.

After attempt six, decide whether to save the finished voyage through the game’s own score panel. Saved results can enter this browser’s top five. Beginning another voyage restores a fresh set of six attempts rather than continuing the previous count.
