Recognise the fish in detail
Muskellunge shares the pike’s long-bodied predator shape but carries a different dark pattern and its own distinctive profile. Compare the two specimen pages side by side in the directory, then note that their separate base values remain part of the unchanged game.
Use this close view to learn the outline before returning to the moving water. The picture identifies a species; it does not determine the outcome of a drop. That outcome depends on the original game’s alignment check, followed by the species value and any earned bonuses.
The species component of a catch
A Muskellunge catch begins with 470 points before any bonuses are added. The species belongs to the rare group. After a successful range check, Golden Current combines that base with the alignment award and the applicable consecutive-catch addition.
At the catch check, the closest fish must lie within ten lane units of the boat. Keep that gap in view as you prepare the action. An attractive species or large base value cannot compensate for a drop made beyond the permitted distance.
What the spawning group actually means
Northern pike, muskellunge and golden carp occupy the rare group together. That group receives 10% of spawn selections. A six-drop voyage may show an uneven selection, so encountering one of these fish remains a possibility rather than a promised stage of the round.
The fish available during a short voyage need not mirror the long-run proportions. Make the next decision from the actual school on screen, because no particular species is reserved for your remaining drops.
